5 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD
HAVE A BUYER'S AGENT WHEN
PURCHASING NEW CONSTRUCTION
1. new construction can be complicated and confusing when compared to purchasing a resale
home. Perhaps you are familiar with the home purchasing process due to past real estate
transactions. However, it is always a good idea to have a real estate expert in your corner,
looking out for your best interests. We can help you better understand the builder’s contract.
2. always consider all options when choosing to add amenities and upgrades for your new home.
Your Buyer's agent can help you determine what add-ons will net you the greatest return on
investment for later resale.
3. Visiting a new construction site without a Buyer's agent present could put you at risk of missing
the opportunity to have independent representation. Often, builders will require you to register
your Buyer's agent during the first visit. if no Buyer's agent is present you may unwittingly be
contracted to work with a Builder's representative who has the Builder’s best interest in mind.
4. a Buyer’s agent is your best and most-knowledgeable representative when it comes to
deciding which upgrades are more valuable immediately and which ones to put off until later.
this prevents you from missing out on more sought-after features; such as, additional square
footage and exterior curb appeal.
5. remember that a Buyer's agent represents you and will ensure that any promises of incentives
or upgrades by the Builder or Builder's representative will be put in writing to protect you
at closing. the Builder may also offer incentives if you use their lender. While this may
